Remember Remember
Richard HardieAbout
I am a British author who started writing books for Young Adults of all ages while flying on multiple trips to Asia on business. My best known books Leap of Faith, Trouble With Swords and Remember Remember are the first three novels in the Temporal Detective Agency series, which I will continue writing as long as my characters have fun and I can come up with plots. I was a Scout Leader for 15 years and during that time I wrote and produced the Scout and Guide Association Gang Shows, one of which I co-wrote with the great Terry Pratchett. Some of my main characters and certainly my sense of humour were developed during my time with the Troop.
I love giving talks to children of all ages and have presented across South Wales and as far afield as Brighton. I visit schools, colleges and Scout and Guide Troops. In general my talks are highly interactive with lots of dressing upand concentrate on HOW a book is written, with the end result that my audience "writes" the plot of a book using the Who, What, Where, When, Why and How rules. I take their ideas and using the material I write a short story of around 20 pages and go back and read it to them a month later. A bound version goes on display in the school and in the local public library.
As well as being an author, I am also the managing director of Authors Reach Ltd, a small, but rather good publishing company!
I am married, with two kids and a cocker spaniel who loves walking long distances along the beautiful Gower Peninsular while I bounce plot ideas off him. One bark for YES and two barks for NO!
